Episode 258: We Love Michael B. Jordan

Welcome back to our week in geek. This week we continue to watch through our streaming suggestions (we’re so happy to have this ‘problem’) by reviewing Fruitvale Station on Netflix. We discuss some of the ongoing news and we answer last week’s podquestion of which winter Olympic sport would you participate in if given the chance.

This week’s fan streaming review was suggestion Fruitvale Station on Netflix. We had both heard how amazing Michael B. Jordan’s performance was in this movie and in that area we were not disappointed. Mind you yes we are biased and Love Jordan, but he really does do a damn good job acting. Our biggest detraction was the over use of “bruh” that just didn’t feel natural for the character he was playing. Unfortunately for this based on true story, the rest of the movie didn’t really bring us in, it felt more like a staged movie than a natural flow of someone’s final hours. We both agree that Jordan’s performance was worth the price of admission but just wish the rest of the movie was up to that level. We both say see the movie, if only for Jordan.

The fan-suggestion-palooza continues with this week’s streaming review of Mute coming from the Heterolifemate himself. From the director of Moon, an awesome movie that neither of us have seen yet, comes this strange futuristic tale of a Mute man in Berlin trying to find his lost love. You can find this movie on Netflix if you want to watch along.

You can suggest a streaming movie that you want us to watch and review on future episodes that are on Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime or HBOgo.
